These are pictures from my recent trip to Boston, over February vacation for my best friend's birthday. Since a lot of my family is from around there, I've grown up going to Boston a lot, so it's like one of my second homes. It's always so fun to go to Newbury Street and shop! Every year, my friend and I buy matching Marc Jacobs necklaces, and this year we bought 2, one with boxing gloves on them and one that says 'killer'. Definitely a highlight of 2013!

fashion icon of the week...

Style-wise, there are so many women I look up to. Every week I want to post a different woman whose fashion inspires me. For the first week, I chose Marilyn Monroe. The first time I was exposed to her was when I was about 7 or 8 and I remember watching Some Like It Hot, but I didn't really know who Marilyn was. The next time I saw her—when I was about 10— was a huge cardboard cutout of the famous picture of her dress blowing up over the subway vent from The Seven Year Itch. I was at a restaurant with my family and someone was telling me about the photo. Just a few months ago I decided to watch that same film and ever since then, I've just loved Marilyn. Her style was glamourous and she could pull off absolutely anything.

my favorites from fall fashion week

I love this look from Emilia Wickstead because it reminds me of Nancy Drew! The plaid-on-plaid is classic and fifties, my favorite! Daring look for fall.

I adore the color of the dress from Diane von Furstenburg. I also love the flowiness and length of it.

As usual, Dolce & Gabbana is my favorite designer at Fashion Week. I love the richness and quality of their clothes. Purely Italian.

I love the color and the detailing of this Dolce & Gabbana dress.

I just love these shorts from Dolce & Gabbana. The colors is magnificent and the top goes perfectly with it. The crown is also so gorgeous! One of my favorite looks.

This is also one of my favorites from the Dolce & Gabbana show. I love the metallics and jewels. It's all so rich and colorful, and the blue and gold go together amazingly.

I love this white dress from Dolce & Gabbana. The white is a change from all the golds and reds, so it's very refreshing and it just pops against all the other colors.

This dress was one of the many gorgeous outfits in the Christian Dior collection. I really like the randomness of the embroidered shoe.

My trip to New York was in the beginning of the winter, but I still thought I'd post these. I went to a lot of places this winter, so I wanted to share them!
I always love going to New York City, even though I don't get to do it that much. This time was for my 16th birthday trip. We stayed in Chelsea and the first day we just hung around there, went to the FIT museum, and Chelsea Market. We ate dinner at the most amazing restaurant, The Green Table.
The next day we decided to go down to La Bergamote, aka the best cafe ever, and get croissants and hot chocolate. Then we Tiffany's at 8 'o clock in the morning and had breakfast in front. While taking a break form our shopping, we stopped at the Plaza Hotel to have brunch and go to the Eloise store. Then we ended the day at the Rockefeller Center tree.
The third and last day was pretty short, but just as fun. We started with a breakfast of croissants, hot chocolate and eggs at La Bergamote, then drove by the apartment they used for Holly Golightly in "Breakfast at Tiffany's". A perfect way to end a perfect weekend.
